Spirit of Rain

Spirit of Rain is purely a studio project and the first (and thus far, only) album was released on October 25, 2024. It's an album with seven tracks, all built entirely in the studio – no live performances planned, wanted, or possible. It was, in short, the first testing ground in my PhD Music in the making: Identities and Personality at play.

The lyrics emerged from a text-disruption process: feeding my own writing into statistical generators – factor oracle, Markov chains, later LLMs, and so on. The musical production was heavily governed and shaped by plugins and tools, and therefore unplayable live, unless resorting to stem tracks playing in the background.

The project led me to create the Itzama stalagmite, later displayed at Gothenburg Fringe 2024, and the video at the top here, that I made with Fie Dam Mygind, Viljar Irtun Moe and Pierluca Taranta.
